With so much to consider for inspiration, this Michigan Football Association crest design draws from the natural beauty of the state. The state animal, the whitetail deer, features prominently on the shield and is flanked by two pine trees representing Michigan’s two peninsulas. Above the text there are five blue stars that signify the true “stars” of Michigan: the Great Lakes.
