The name of the club is derived from the real Alligator Alley, located in Florida. It is a stretch of I-75 that spans 80 miles, cutting through the Everglades between Naples and Fort Lauderdale. The road gets its name from the surrounding swamps that are the home of Florida’s national reptile, the American Alligator.

The center of the AAFC crest displays the fierce alligator. The 1845 on the sides of the crest represents the year that Florida officially became a state, as part of the US. The yellow lines and suns on the crest illustrate the fact that Florida is nicknamed the “Sunshine State.” The font used on the crest is Aurach Bi, which is reminiscent of the Art Deco style very much visible in Miami Beach.

The color scheme of the crest and kit contains the distinct dark mint green, the vibrant dark yellow and black. The green represents Florida’s vast untamed wilderness and various species of wildlife, including the alligator. The yellow is derived from the bountiful sunshine and warm climate of the state. The black is to provide contrast and emphasis on the other bright colors. The kit features a green sharp, cracked pattern designed to appear like the rough scales and tough skin of alligators. On the back of the kit, there is the official state flag near the back of the collar. Additionally, the number 27 is displayed on the back, derived from Florida being the 27th state to join the US.
