California is an incredibly diverse state with a wide variety of landscapes and cultures. To represent this state as generally as possible, the crest features a map of California, the grizzly bear from the state flag, and the California poppy (the state flower). The name Atlético California pays homage to California's Spanish roots and large Hispanic population. The kits feature the ocean waves of the Pacific crashing onto a diagonal sash inspired by the geographic shape of California.
