Bluegrass FC, the Hoppers, based in Lexington, KY are a fictional team created by long-time Football Manager gamer/researcher and pro scout, Al Clark. A concept team, from before the launch of Lexington Sporting Club, with a goal to bring pro soccer to the Central Kentucky Bluegrass region after more than 20 years without a team. With a focus on design and branding, the jersey draws inspiration from two areas – Al’s hometown colors of Warrington (UK) and the late 90’s Parma jerseys worn by Cannavaro, Crespo, Asprilla, Thuram, Veron, Paulo Sousa and so many other great players. One day, perhaps, there will be a real Bluegrass FC, until then there is just this banger of a jersey to enjoy.
BFC have partnered with the Lexington Rescue Mission as our 2023 “good cause”. The organization helps with sheltering and feeding the hungry in the region. While the team has no faith-based agenda, the overwhelming desire to help those in need makes this an exciting partnership. WE WILL BE CONTRIBUTING 100% OF THE PROFITS from the jersey to this cause and for every 2.16 we can feed someone in need, we hope to raise 350+ meals through this pre-sale drive.
